CC Natural Medicine provides individualized and comprehensive acupuncture treatments incorporating a variety of therapies. Cupping, moxabustion, gua sha and Tui Na massage are the most common therapies to be included in an acupuncture treatment. This is at no additional charge, however if you would like extra time with any of these therapies, this will need to be worked into the schedule and an additional charge will be applied.
Small glass or plastic cups are applied to the body through suction (either fire or pump) and remain on the body for 10 minutes or are gently moved along the muscular structures. Cupping relieves back or neck pain, common colds, stiff muscles, stomachaches, fatigue, migraines and more.
Moxibustion is a warming therapy that involves the burning of the herb mugwort to stimulate circulation to an acupuncture point or region of the body. This method is especially effective in relieving chronic joint pain, menstrual disorders and fatigue.
Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped with a tool to produce “sha” or redness that looks like bruising but does not feel like it. Gua sha stimulates blood flow and healing to the area applied and stimulates an immune protective response that can last for days following treatment. Gua sha helps to resolve musculoskeletal pain, treats and prevents the common cold, bronchitis and asthma as well as any acute or chronic condition involving pain and inflammation.
